The Thrasher Carriage Museum presents the stunning collection of wealthy businessman James Thrasher, who collected and restored hundreds of old-fashioned horse-drawn carriages during his lifetime. The museum displays beautiful samples of such models as the Queen Body Phaeton and the Extension Front Broughman, as well as carriages that were used for sport; it also features a daily House Tea, capped off by a guided tour of the museum. It lies downtown, about ten miles west of Cumberland on Interstate 68.
